Kevin Artzner

Kevin Artzner is the owner and artist behind Coastal Woodworking in Southport, NC. He grew up in Kernersville, NC which was one town over from High Point, NC and the Furniture Capital of America. With such a major industry in the area, it was normal to take woodshop from the 7th grade all the way through graduation as a way of preparing students for a future trade. Kevin did just that. After graduation he went on to get a degree in Marketing and then entered the corporate world working in product development and marketing. First for a paint and finishes company, then a hardware company, next a power tool company before finally entering the furniture industry. Looking back over nearly 20 years of a professional career, what an interesting journey for someone who would ultimately start a woodworking company. Today Kevin creates handmade woodcraft from both new and repurposed materials. He enjoys doing one-of-kind pieces as well as custom works for his clients in Wilmington, NC and the surrounding areas.
